NEWS:

• We have a number of new releases in June, all aged in French oak: 2011 dry Cabernet Rosé, great for those outside summer events; 2011 Viognier, crisp and full of floral aromas; Raspberry/Elderberry & Apple wine, perfect as a patio wine, very refreshing and fruit forward
• Our Elderberry Tea will be released in early July. This has been the most exciting new Elderberry Product yet, a mixture of black and green tea and a touch of spearmint, all blended with our elderberry, slightly sweetened. This will be sold in a bag in box as a syrup to mix with water.
• Starting in June: Customers will have the option to purchase all of our wines packaged in 9.46 liter boxes, equivalent to more than a case of wine. One of our goals moving forward is to reduce our carbon footprint, as well as bring a better value to our customers. The box packaging does just that - reduce energy in manufacturing and shipping boxes and liners verses glass. All of our wines are still produced in oak barrels. The high grade liners do not impart any flavors in the wine. Another big advantage is reduced storage space and as you consume the wine, the bag shrinks, thus no oxygen is exposed to the wine giving customers the flexibility to choose the amount to take, a glass or fill a decanter. The best news for the box wine is the savings. We save a tremendous amount in packaging and bottling expense. Our four apple based wines will sell for $6/750 ml bottle and the reds will sell around $10/750 ml bottle in the 9.46 liter box. These will be released just in time for those summer parties. May 26, 27, 28: New Release of the 2011 Viognier – Crisp / Refreshing with aromas of pineapple and apricot. Great summer wine with seafood & pasta. Bring your family out; we are open Monday as well.

All of our wines are crafted entirely by hand to preserve the subtle flavors of the grape varieties and are aged in French oak barrels to further enhance them.

The Village Winery and its ten acres of vineyards are just outside the heart of the village of Waterford, a National Historic Landmark. The winery is housed in a restored farm structure next to our large, old bank barn.
